Technical Information

Technical Information & Marble Care

Our marble sinks are individually crafted from natural stone, meaning every piece is entirely unique. Variations in colour, veining, mineral markings, small surface pits and tonal movement are inherent characteristics of genuine marble and should not be considered defects. These natural differences are part of the beauty and character of the stone, ensuring that no two sinks are exactly alike.

Cleaning and Routine Care

Clean the sink regularly using warm water, a soft cloth and a mild, pH-neutral stone cleaner. After cleaning, rinse the surface thoroughly and dry it with a soft microfibre cloth to help prevent water marks, soap residue and limescale build-up.

Spills from cosmetics, soaps, oils and strongly coloured products should be wiped away promptly, as natural marble is porous and may absorb liquids if they are left on the surface for extended periods.

Do not use:

  • Acidic cleaners, including vinegar, lemon or citrus-based products
  • Bleach, ammonia or strong chemical cleaners
  • Abrasive powders, scouring pads or rough sponges
  • General bathroom cleaners that are not suitable for natural stone
  • Limescale removers unless specifically approved for marble

Acidic or abrasive products can dull the polished finish, cause etching and permanently damage the surface.

Sealing and Protection

Natural marble may require periodic sealing to help protect it against moisture and staining. The frequency will depend on the type of marble, its finish, the level of use and the sealing product applied. We recommend consulting a professional stone specialist or installer before applying any sealer.

Always test cleaning and sealing products on a small, discreet area before treating the entire sink.

Everyday Use

Avoid leaving standing water, wet toiletries, metal containers or strongly pigmented products on the marble surface. Soap dispensers, bottles and decorative accessories should be lifted and cleaned underneath regularly to prevent trapped moisture and staining.

Do not place extremely hot items directly onto the stone. Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects into the basin, as natural marble may chip or crack if subjected to significant impact.

Installation

Due to the weight and natural composition of solid stone, marble sinks must be installed onto a suitably reinforced surface or wall structure. Installation should be completed by an experienced professional using fixings, supports and sealants appropriate for natural stone.

Plumbing fittings should not be overtightened, as excessive pressure can damage the marble. Only non-staining, natural-stone-compatible silicone and installation products should be used.

Natural Stone Characteristics

Veining, fissures, crystalline markings and colour variation are natural features formed over millions of years. Certain veins may be filled, reinforced or professionally treated during production to improve the strength and finish of the stone. These characteristics do not affect the sink’s intended function and contribute to the individuality of each piece.

With appropriate installation, regular cleaning and careful maintenance, a natural marble sink will retain its distinctive appearance and provide a timeless focal point for many years.
